Welcome to my first ever Antique haul blog! I’m a real antique and thrift store junky, and I can’t wait to share my finds with you!
So awhile back I was browsing through an antique shop when I found the cutest copper salt and pepper shakers. If you’ve been around my social media at all, you may have noticed that I’m really into copper things.

I couldn’t leave the shakers there, so I bought them for just $8! They are old, and well used, and they tell a story. And then it hit me! I want to fill my home with things that tell a story. That have character, and aren’t perfect. I want that authentic farmhouse feel to my home.
And that is how my farmhouse style transformation began.
I’m looking for one of a kind pieces
So now my philosophy is to find things that are useful, but still have life to give. I no longer want to shop my farmhouse style from the big box stores. They have their place, and I love Target as much as the next girl, but I’m tired of walking into the store and picking an item from the shelf where there are 100 more just like it. I want to find the one of a kind pieces to fill my home with.
If you’ve never experienced the thrill of the hunt, you haven’t really lived yet! Ok, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but seriously! It’s like a treasure hunt. You never know what you will find or where you will find it. I go thrifting and antiquing, with no expectations. I might find something, I might not. It’s a thrill I cannot find when I shop the regular stores.
So are you ready to see my antique haul?
First up is this adorable old cow bell! My mom found it while we were out shopping together and decided she wanted to get it for me. I didn’t argue with her. She bought it for $12.

I like to call my family together for meals with a bell instead of yelling through the house. It has a very warm ring that can be heard on all 3 levels of our home. It sits very happily on our table next to the salt and pepper shakers. And if you are looking for a yummy breakfast your family will want to join you at the table for here is my suggestion!
We were almost done with our walk through the store, when my mom found this beautiful copper boiler! I have been trying to figure out what I could store the pellets in for our pellet stove, and this is our answer!

Although it’s original use was to boil water for the wash, I think repurposing it into a storage place for our pellets is so perfect! It will look beautiful while being completely useful. Although the price tag was a bit high for what I usually spend, it was still a really good deal at $60!
Here’s a couple thrift store finds too
My mom and I also hit our favorite thrift store while we were out. If I shop long enough, I am bound to find some treasures. I picked up a ton of clothes for my daughter. Living out here in the country, my kids go through clothes so fast. They play hard, and I love that, but everything has holes basically as soon as they put it on. I’ve learned to just buy them thrifted clothes and then I don’t care so much when they destroy them while climbing a tree.
My biggest treasures were these adorable baskets! For $3 each! That’s a real bargain in my book!

Aren’t these the cutest little pitchers?! They look vintage so I decided I must have them! And for $3 each, it was basically a requirement that I buy them.

Isn’t that just the sweetest little pitcher?! And these flowers! This year was my first time growing a few varieties of flowers in the garden. Totally doing this again next year!
A day with my sister and my antique haul
So I have to share these last two finds with you! I spent the weekend with my sister, and we took a day to go antiquing together! I decided that I really needed a tea pot. I’m done with my electric one. It’s not in the least bit pretty. It has zero character, and it takes up space on my countertops. So look what I found to replace it!!!!!

Can I just say, that this is just about the cutest pot EVER! It pours so nicely out of that cute little spout! And you’ll never guess how much it was!! $10!!!! I’ve found some cute antique tea pots, but with price tags much higher than this one. So you can see why I absolutely couldn’t leave it there!
Last, but not least in this very exciting antique haul, I found this adorable crock!! I’ve been looking for antique crocks for my kitchen. I have so many uses for them, and I think they will look beautiful on my pantry shelves; when I have pantry shelves, that is. We will be building our pantry soon!

And with a price tag of only $6 it was almost too good to be true!! I haven’t been antique shopping for my house for very long, but I can still say, that’s a deal! Most crocks start at $15 and just go up from there. And yes, that is my tea pot in the background trying to steal the show in this picture. It can’t help that it’s so cute!
And a thrifted basket
Also, this basket! we happened to stop in at a thrift store along our rout and found this cute, sturdy basket for just $6. It’s still in really good shape, and ready to be put to work. Not sure how I’ll use it yet, but probably in my pantry.

So there you have it! My first ever antique haul. So much fun! If you are looking for a fun blog to follow check out Farmhouse vernacular. She and her husband are remodeling their old farmhouse, and I’m really enjoying her antique hauls and thrifted finds.
